A BIT ABOUT ME
Trust me, and let’s kick this off!
I am Lesya, I am based in New York, USA and work at one of the largest educational corporations in the country. Languages have been my passion for as long as I can remember - I live and breathe them
and what I advocate for
I am obsessed with languages and excited to share my skills with you through a fresh, non-standard approach
I graduated with distinction from Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University (PSLU), holding a degree in Multicultural Communication with 4 foreign languages. My major was in the theory and practice of multicultural communication
I also hold a second degree in the Theory of Translation and Interpretation, with expertise in both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting
🔗 I speak English, Spanish, French, and German fluently
🔗 English language has been with me since I was 3 years old, so technically I’ve spoken Russian just a bit longer
🔗 German came into my life in 4th grade, and we were inseparable for a long time. But, sorry, German fans, I’ m not as fond of it anymore
🔗 Throughout my life, I’ve never gone more than 5-7 days without speaking one of these
🔗 Spanish has my heart and soul. During my first visit to Spain (just1,5 months) I went from zero to a B1 level, and later certified it with the DELE exam when I got back to Russia
🔗 The languages don’t get mixed up in my head - although sometimes Russian words do slip away!
🔗 I can confidently say that I’m a language addict, and I’m proud of it

🔗 I’ve studied in schools in England, Spain, and France, and lived with host families to fully immerse myself in the languages. I am so grateful to my parents for giving me this opportunity during my university years
🔗 I spent a couple of winters working in Levi, a ski resort in Finland. We handled everything for tourists from accommodation to organizing excursions. The highlight? Taking them to meet the real Santa Claus in Lapland - it was pure magic!
🔗 For five years, I worked with an American company that was a tour operator across the Caribbean. Helping to start it up and working closely with Americans gave me deep insight into their mentality, culture, and, of course, the language itself
🔗 I also have a huge amount of experience under my belt as a professional translator, both simultaneous and consecutive, for various events and negotiations. It was intense but invaluable practice!

I develop and tailor conversational skills to each student’s needs and perception. We’ll explore new topics, tackle challenges, and enhance pronunciation and intonation. We‘ll aim to speak 90-95% of the time in English, fully immersing in the language

In the first few lessons I asses your skills and figure out how you learn best. I analyze which methods help you grasp material and what might be more challenging

We grow and progress at your own pace, adjusting to your spirit and work on any areas that need strengthening

I dedicate a lot of time on practicing pronunciation and intonation. Get ready to sound awesome —but yeah, it’ll take some work!

I personally handpick all the materials. We’ll use texts, audios and videos contents that keep getting updated as you progress. Most of our time will be spent speaking in English
